Getting Started

Connect your e-ink tablet, install the Obsidian plugin, and start syncing OCR text into plain Markdown.

1. Create Your Account

Create an InkLift account with your email address and password. The free tier is available without a credit card.

2. Connect Your Tablet

  1. Open the InkLift dashboard and choose Add Device.
  2. Select your tablet type.
  3. Follow the one-time connection flow for your device provider.

InkLift stores device tokens encrypted at rest and never asks for your tablet account password.

3. Install the Obsidian Plugin

  1. Install InkLift from Obsidian Community Plugins when available.
  2. For manual install, download main.js and manifest.json from the GitHub release.
  3. Place them in .obsidian/plugins/inklift/ inside your vault.
  4. Enable the plugin and sign in from plugin settings.

4. Choose What Syncs

Select the notebooks you want InkLift to process, choose your vault folder, and keep the default Markdown output unless you need a custom filename pattern.

5. Let It Run

InkLift polls for new pages, runs OCR, and syncs converted notes into your Obsidian vault as Markdown files.
